ONLINE DEPUTY EDITOR

Type of Employment : Full Time

Location : Dubai

Responsibilities:

–   Help recruit contributors.
–   Act as liaison with contributors.
–   Assist contributors in adhering to guidelines for publishing posts.
–   Help formulate guidelines for publishing posts.
–   Publish contributor posts on the WordPress platform.
–   Ensure that images are properly sourced and credited.
–   Prepare weekly summary of upcoming news, and forward them to contributors for potential posts.
–   Help contributors formulate ideas for posts based on their expertise and events in the news.
–   Publish appropriate and relevant company press releases and reports in the press release section of the website.
–   Alert staff members and freelance journalist contributors to breaking news, so that they can quickly publish posts.
–   Curate content from Forbes.com
–   Analyze traffic, and provide daily traffic reports to Group Editor and Editor in Chief.
–   Prepare all contracts and maintain track of all budgets for contracts.
–   Provide Editorial coordinator with a contributor’s monthly traffic report for compensation, based on contract.
–   Edit online editorial content to ensure accuracy and quality, and recommend modifications and changes. This includes content from contributors, freelancers, and staff.
–   Craft headlines.
–   Ensure that posts do not present potential legal problems.
–   Send posts for translation.
–   Coordinate various activities with editorial staff, including highlighting online articles in the magazine.
–   Promote online and magazine stories on social media.
–   Put together photo galleries for posts.
–   Prepare and maintain editorial calendars.

Qualifications:
–   Excellent command of English.
–   Experience as an online producer and editor.
–   Knowledge of WordPress and image sourcing.
–   An understanding of SEO and social media.
–   Knowledge of Google Analytics.
–   Ability to edit quickly and concisely.
–   Global experience, preferably experience in UK or US.

OFFICE COORDINATOR

Type of Employment : Full Time

Location : Jordan

Requirements:
–   Proven office management, administrative & assistant experience.
–   Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
–   Proficiency in MS Office.
–   Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

Responsibilities:

Office Operations:
–   Manage the reception desk.
–   Support the office staff in various office administration duties, including facility and general maintenance
services.
–   Ensure filing systems are maintained and up to date.
–   Perform basic clerical tasks.
–   Sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail. Coordinating with courier companies as and when required.
–   Recording all office expenditures on excel and reporting to the Accounts department.
–   Maintaining supplies of stationery and equipment.
–   Coordinate with IT department on all office equipment.

HR Assistance:
–   Screens telephone calls, schedules interviews, and conducts Internet research to locate potential job
candidates.
–   Compiles materials and maintains employee database records.
–   Send reports to HR Manager on regular basis on the status of recruitment & office operations.
–   Maintaining employee attendance record.
–   Submitting employee leave records on 20th of every month to HR Manager for Payroll purposes.
–   Coordinate with HR Manager to maintain office policies as necessary.

We’re looking for inquisitive and enterprising journalists who can write original stories on companies and entrepreneurs in a wide range of industries in the Middle East. We value quick-learners with a sharp, analytical mind.

Requirements:
–   Excellent interviewing and reporting skills.
–   Ability to come up with story ideas that appeal
to Forbes Middle East readers.
–   Ability to write quickly, concisely and accurately
on deadline for the website and the magazine.
–   Strong interest in business journalism.
–   Excellent command of English.
–   Fluency in Arabic is a plus, but not a requirement.
–   Bachelor’s degree.
–   Knowledge of the Middle East.

Responsibilities:
–   Write four stories per month for the magazine.
–   Fact-check stories.
–   Cover breaking news for the website.
