Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park, today announced the completion of Phase III of its Light Industrial Units (LIU), with more than 50 per cent already rented.
The Light Industrial Units include 22 flexible, modular and finished units that span over approximately 365 sq. metres. Each unit houses ground and first floor offices spreading over 150 sq. metres, while the warehouse on the ground floor covers almost 210 sq. metres.
These units boast hi-tech features to enable seamless and efficient operations across the office/warehouse buildings. In addition to structural, mechanical and electrical designed ceilings, the ready-for-occupation units are equipped with an electronic sounder and complete fibre optic networking, as well as CCTV, 24-hour security and fire alarm system. Using eco-friendly and high-quality materials, the facility conforms to green building specifications.

Since the launch of Phase I & II of the Light Industrial Units in 2009, numerous companies have set up shop including Schneider Electric - a global specialist in energy management with operations in more than 100 countries; and Wavetec - a leading technology multi-national and manufacturer of electronic queue management (eQ) systems, LED-based information displays and Touch Screen Kiosks, Zara Networks, specialists in home Networks, Business Networks, IT Consultancy, and Web Design amongst many other renowned companies.

In addition to the LIUs, DSO hosts a range of multiple-use warehousing and manufacturing facilities such as High Bay Warehouse Space and Operational Warehouse Space. High Bay offers 172,000 square feet of high-bay warehouses and industrial space. Providing storage solutions for all kinds of businesses, Operational Warehouse Space features units ranging from 3,228 sq. feet - 5,380 sq. feet with racking height of 12 metres and an attached office space of 214 sq. ft.
Wholly-owned by the government of Dubai, DSO operates as a free zone for companies producing semiconductors, microelectronics, and other high-tech products. The high tech park has also emerged as a destination of choice for industry players seeking to establish their regional headquarters and centres of research and development in the Middle East and Africa.
