In an exceptional performance, the Egyptian player Mohamed Salah broke the previous score records on March 17, after scoring four goals to Liverpool against Watford, raising his goals in the current premier league’s season to 28 goals with 9 assists, in 30 appearances.

The 25- year old forward is the first Egyptian and Arab player who scored a hattrick and super-hattrick in the premier league. Prior to this game, only Luis Suarez, Robbie Fowler and Michael Owen had scored four for the Reds in a top-flight match since 1992.

After yesterday’s outstanding match, Salah topped the scorers of the premier league ahead of Harry Kane who had scored 24 goals. He is also the top scorer among his peers in Europe including Barcelona’s forward Lionel Messi who scored 24 goals in LA Liga till now.

Mo or the Egyptian King, as Liverpool’s supporters like to call him, led Egypt to its first soccer world cup since 1990 after having scored five goals in the qualifications. He was named as the top Arab football player worldwide 2017 by Forbes Middle East. Salah was also included among the Arab 30 under 30 class of 2018.

In January 2018, Salah was honored as the African player of the year 2017 by the confederation of African Football (CAF). He was the only player to be named player of the month twice in the current premier league’s season- in November 2017 and February 2018.

Salah moved from AS Rome to Liverpool in July 2017 for an initial fee of €42 million ($51.6 million). The deal included various additional clauses, worth up to a total of €8m ($9.8 million), based on the player and Liverpool achieving certain performance-related targets.
