The EAD-managed Zayed Protected Areas Network comprises 26 terrestrial and marine reserves spanning more than 22,800 square kilometers. In 2025, EAD launched the Abu Dhabi Coral Gardens initiative, which aims to deploy 40,000 artificial reef modules by 2030. By June 2026, the initiative had cultivated 1.8 million coral colonies.
