The UAE brand Spirit of Dubai Parfums by Nabeel, has launched a record-breaking $1.295 million (AED 4.752 million) perfume entitled Shumukh—currently the world's most expensive perfume. It took over three years and 494 perfume trials to formulate.
Shumukh—meaning “deserving the highest” in Arabic—blends perfumery and fine jewellery. It comes with 3,571 diamonds totalling 38.55 carats, along with topaz, pearls, 2479.26 grams of 18 karat gold and 5892.88 grams of pure silver.
Shumukh was conceptualised in the UAE by Asghar Adam Ali—Chairman and Master perfumer at Nabeel Perfumes Group of Companies—and was executed by artisans and craftsmen from Switzerland, Italy and France.
It currently holds two Guinness World Record titles, including the most diamonds set on a perfume bottle, and the tallest remote-controlled fragrance spray product, according to Spirit of Dubai.
All diamonds and precious stones in the perfume packaging are accompanied by individual certificates of authenticity.
The luxurious perfume represents seven elements, including the greatest pearl ever found, the imperial falcon and the rose in eternal bloom.
The custom-built seven-window display showcases each of the seven elements, with each window showcasing the first-generation and second-generation perfumes that are the foundation of Shumukh.
Shumukh will be on public display in The Dubai Mall’s Fashion Avenue from 14th to 30th March 2019.
