I am the editor of the CFO Network at Forbes, focusing on the evolving role of finance chiefs in and outside the workplace. The influence of CFOs is no longer limited to the back office as they are increasingly called on to be strategic partners to CEOs; a transformation spurred by the Great Recession. I reported for nine years at the Wall Street Journal, first as a foreign correspondent based in Caracas, Venezuela before shifting my focus to business journalism and CFOs. I’m a New York City native and currently live in Upper Manhattan, where four generations of my family have put down roots. I’ve had extended stints in California and Texas as a reporter at the Los Angeles Times, the Press-Enterprise in Riverside, California and the Houston Chronicle. I have also filed stories from Iraq and the Horn of Africa during 13 months as an embedded war correspondent for Stars and Stripes.
