Whether they’re venturing into home decor or releasing their own documentaries, celebrities unquestionably have a global impact on consumers’ purchase decisions.
Companies have been seen relying on the media industry’s most influential celebrities to endorse their brands on a global scale. Jennifer Aniston, Chris Hemsworth, and Nicole Kidman were local ambassadors for Emirates Airlines, Bayut and Etihad Airways, respectively.
The hospitality business is no different, opting for celebrity-led brand campaigns. Here are some of the renowned faces that have lent themselves to hotel brands:
1. Susan Sarandon

The Oscar-winning Hollywood actor and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador has recently been appointed as the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts’ newest global ambassador. Sarandon will star in a brand campaign that is expected to be revealed to global key markets in spring this year.
The hotel was a filming site for some of Sarandon’s movies like Little Women, The January Man and King of Gypsies.
2. Anna Kendrick

In September 2018, Anna Kendrick starred in Hilton hotel’s first celebrity-driven campaign, “Expect Better. Expect Hilton.” urging travelers to book on its official site.
The consumer-centric campaign—that also took over local radio airwaves—showcases the actress’s humor and down-to-earth appeal that seemed to be a winning factor for the Hilton. It saw strong results and positively impacted the hotel brand among millennials and Generation Z, according to data from YouGov Plan & Track. Booking intent has shown a 10% increase among those who would book through third-party travel agencies.
3. David Beckham

Adding to his extensive portfolio, the retired footballer is the global ambassador for Sands China Ltd. and its integrated brands, including luxurious hotels The Venetian Macau, Sands Resorts Macao and The Parisian Macao
Beckham is also the face of forthcoming destination resort The Londoner Macao, located at the center of the Cotai Strip. He will be lending a hand in designing “The David Beckham Suites” alongside a team of designers.
The reported $2.2 billion British-themed project is expected to progressively launch in phases over 2020 and 2021 in Macau, China.
4. Jessica Alba

The actress and founder of the Honest Company joined Rosewood Hotels & Resorts as a brand curator in 2017. As part the Rosewood Curator program, Alba offers travel tips and insider secrets of Mexico’s Riviera Maya where the Rosewood Mayakoba hotel is situated.
Launched in 2013, the program includes curators such as fashion designer Zac Posen, film director Johnnie To and actor Allison Janney.
