In a major development toward the commencement of commercial operations scheduled for early 2021, 100% of the rated reactor power capacity of 1,400MW was achieved for Unit 1 of Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant. An announcement in this regard was made by the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) whose operating and maintenance subsidiary Nawah Energy Company achieved the feat.
