The British Fashion Awards acknowledge and celebrate the talent and the innovative creators whose exceptional imaginations have made big statements in fashion globally over the last 12 months. Held on Monday at London’s Royal Albert Hall, guests this year included Janet Jackson, Halima Adan, Giorgio Armani and Rihanna among other industry experts.

Here are seven of the notable winners for 2019:

Brand of the Year, Designer of the Year, British Designer of the Year Womenswear, Accessories Designer of the Year: Daniel Lee for Bottega Veneta

Bottega Veneta swept up four main awards. The brand has grown to become one of the most influential fashion brands to date. At the age of 33, Daniel Lee, creative director of the Italian brand, won at every category he was nominated in. Skilled at the fashion’s core product, leather goods, he made it into trendy and recognizable pieces creating a need for them in the fashion market.

Urban Luxe: Fenty by Rhianna
Presented by: Tyler the Creator, and Janet Jackson

Rihanna, the famous superstar’s label, Fenty, won the “Urban Luxe” award, which was presented and complemented by Tyler the Creator, and Janet Jackson. Rhianna attended the event with rapper A$AP Rocky. She is famous for creating fashion statements with her outfits at every occasion she attends. Her brand, Fenty, is inspired by women of all skin tones, attitudes and cultures, promising an inclusion for all women.

Fashion Icon: Naomi Campbell
Presented by: Sir Jony Ive

Legendary supermodel, Naomi Campbell, was in tears as she accepted one of the most prestigious awards in the event. She thanked her mother for being a great support system and raising her to be the icon that she is today.  She wore a gown by Alexander McQueen, complimented by Bvlgari jewelry to the star-studded event.

Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator: Sam McKnight

Sam McKnight is a British hairdresser who is very well known for styling Princess Diana, and working alongside Chanel and Burberry among many other famous brands. He was awarded for his creativity and great presence in the fashion industry for over 40 years.

British Designer of the Year Menswear: Kim Jones for Dior Men
Presented by: Miguel and Kaia Gerber

Kim Jones won British Designer of the Year Menswear for his work with Dior. The trailblazing designer has dressed celebrities like David Beckham and A$AP Rocky among many others. Donatella Versace accepted his award on his behalf.

Model of the Year: Adut Akech
Presented by: Pierpaolo Piccioli and Edward Enninful

Adut Akech wore an emerald Valentino gown to the event. The young model is only 19 years old and is originally from South Sudan. She has seen a great rise in her career this year, with the support of Naomi Campbell, who took Akech under her wing.

Outstanding Achievement Award: Giorgio Armani
Presented by: Julia Roberts and Cate Blanchett

Giorgio Armani and Julia Roberts walked hand-in-hand along the red carpet showing their long-time friendship. Armani made Roberts’ dashing black velvet jumpsuit for the event.

    Presented by: Naomi Campbell
