Alsharif developed a 3D and 4D-printed, octopus-inspired dry wearable patch, a reusable, adhesive-free device that captures heart, muscle, and eye signals without harming the skin. By leveraging advanced printing methods, the patch is projected to reduce production costs by about 50% compared to chemically adhesive disposable alternatives. She has published nine journal and conference papers on wearable and flexible electronics, including two focused on this octopus-inspired skin patch. The innovation has not yet entered clinical trials or commercialization.
