Zein cofounded LAYN with Mohamed El-Hashemy (now in his 30s), officially launching in 2025 after 1.5 years of R&D in 3D concrete printing technology. Its first product line, LAYN Urban Life, features fully localized 3D concrete printing technology developed in Egypt. Since launch, LAYN has partnered on projects with major developers including SODIC and Emaar. In 2024, it secured $210,000 in early funding from EuroAid grants and a pre-seed round led by Dar Ventures, and it is now finalizing a $1 million seed round co-led by Dar Ventures with financial institution partners.
