Haloui assumed his current position in April 2025. ONTT is the body through which the Tunisian government implements its tourism development strategies, it also promotes Tunisia as a national and global destination. In 2023, 118 preliminary agreements were granted to developers for new tourism projects, for a total of $134 million across 93 accommodation and 25 entertainment projects. In December 2024, Tunisia announced that the value the private sector investment intentions in tourism in Jendouba will exceed $133.7 million by 2027. Haloui has served as director of investments and developer support at the ONTT since May 2023. He has also held other roles within the office, including as director of Saharan Tourism, regional tourism delegate in Monastir and Mahdia, and director of product promotion.
