Cherfan has been serving in his current role since January 2021, after Groupe PSA and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles merged to create Stellantis. In 2024, Stellantis advanced its Kenitra plant expansion in Morocco with about $348 million investment aimed at doubling annual production to 450,000 vehicles, including 50,000 electric vehicles. It also completed the launch of full operations in Algeria, including the industrial launch of the Tafraoui plant and the rollout of the FIAT distribution network. Cherfan leads industrial and commercial complexity at Stellantis, serves as head of micro mobility, and is a board member and vice chairman of the Turkish automotive company, Tofaş.
