Johansson joined Ericsson in 1997 and assumed his current position in 2024, which expanded to include Europe in 2025. In October 2024, Ericsson joined forces with e& Egypt to launch 5G in Egypt. In March 2025, the company signed an MoU with Ooredoo Qatar to accelerate digital transformation for enterprises and public sector organizations in Qatar. In the same month, Ericsson collaborated with Zain Bahrain to expand the mobile broadband network and renew the managed services agreement. Johansson is also a non-executive director of the board at Ericsson-LG and OPCOM Cables, as well as chairman of the board at LN Srithai Comm.
