Al Jaber was appointed Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the U.A.E. in 2020. At the opening of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025, he unveiled the world’s first renewable energy and storage facility capable of delivering 1 GW of uninterrupted baseload clean power, combining 5.2 GW of solar PV with 19 GWh of battery capacity. Al Jaber has been the chairman of Masdar since 2014. He is also the executive chairman of XRG, and CEO and managing director of ADNOC. He served as COP28 UAE President.
