Al-Khateeb assumed her current position at KNPC in 2022, having first joined the company in 1994. Her responsibilities were expanded to include acting CEO of KIPIC in April 2024, which the KNPC is in the process of acquiring. In August 2025, the KNPC awarded a front-end engineering design contract to Bilfinger for the new North Oil Pier project at its Mina Al Ahmadi Refinery in Kuwait. It registered two patents under KNPC’s ownership with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in December 2024 and April 2025. For the financial year ending March 2025, KNPC reported revenues of $46.4 billion, while KIPIC recorded $15.5 billion. Al-Khateeb is concurrently Vice Chairperson for the Gulf Downstream Association.
