Elsewedy joined the listed family business in 1986 and assumed his position in 2006. Today, the company has over 34 production facilities in 19 countries, and a workforce of 19,000 people and exports products to over 110 countries worldwide. In H1 2025, the company posted $2.5 billion in revenues and $5.7 billion in total assets. Elsewedy also established The Knowledge Hub Universities, which hosts Coventry University and NOVA University in Egypt.
