Okba has developed algorithms to improve energy harvesting from photovoltaic (PV) panels, using Algeria as a case study. He developed the Kitsune Optimization Algorithm (KOA), a metaheuristic method tested on benchmark functions and PV systems, as well as the Quantum Marine Predator Algorithm (QMPA), inspired by Japanese folklore and applying quantum and AI techniques to PV system design and control. The academic has also worked on cybersecurity for electric vehicle charging stations. Okba holds a PhD in mechatronics engineering and serves as assistant professor and head of department at the University of Bouira.
