El Fakir joined Airports of Morocco, formerly the National Airports Office (ONDA), in June 2024. In 2025, Morocco’s airports recorded 36.3 million passengers. With growth accelerating further, in the first seven months of 2026, Moroccan airports served 22.28 million passengers, an 8.77% YoY increase. In the same period, international traffic rose 8.82% to nearly 19.9 million passengers, driven by European travelers. El Fakir was previously CEO at the Moroccan National Tourism Office.
