In April 2026, AD Ports Group, Abu Dhabi Maritime and Integrated Transport Centre inaugurated Abu Dhabi’s first solar-integrated community harbour, designed to meet 80% of its energy needs through solar power and mitigate up to 500 tonnes of CO₂ annually. In 2025, AD Ports Group reduced emissions intensity per unit of revenue by 6%. Al Mheiri has served as CEO of Abu Dhabi Maritime since 2020, and became AD Ports Group’s chief sustainability officer in 2024, with his role expanding to risk officer in 2026.
