In 2025, Emirates Mobility, formerly Emirates Driving Company, expanded its GHG inventory to include Excellence Premier Investment and formalized a decarbonization plan covering scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. Its revised targets were validated by the SBTi in January 2026, supporting its net-zero-by-2050 goal. The company procured Clean Energy Certificates backed equally by solar and nuclear power. It also established ChargePoint with Vcharge to deploy more than 1,800 public EV-charging sockets across Abu Dhabi. Al Shemeili became acting CEO in 2020 and was appointed CEO in January 2022.
