Al Saud has chaired AGFUND since October 2020. As of July 2026, the institution has implemented a total of 1,798 projects across 171 countries, in collaboration with more than 500 development partners. At its latest semiannual meeting, the board approved the AGFUND Strategy until 2030 and funding for 15 new development projects. Its focus areas include early childhood development, women's empowerment, civil society development, open education, and financial inclusion.
