The Zubair Corporation was founded by Mohammad Al Zubair in 1967 as Muscat Trading Company in the old souq in Muscat. Today, the company is led by his son Rashad Mohammad Al Zubair. It is a regional conglomerate with over 60 subsidiary companies spanning energy and natural resources, real estate, hospitality, financial investments, automotive, and IT, among other sectors.
