Al-Nasr has been the CEO of NEOM since July 2018. NEOM is creating a sustainable and hyper-connected cognitive city in Saudi. It includes mega projects Trojena, Oxagon, and THE LINE and relies heavily on 5G hyperconnectivity, AI, robotics, purpose-built data centers, big data analytics, augmented virtual reality, and automated guided vehicles. The $500 billion project has invested $1 billion in AI, including a metaverse platform in 2022, through the NEOM Tech & Digital Company (Tonomus). Al-Nasr began his career at Saudi Aramco in 1978. In 2009, he was appointed by royal decree to serve on the advisory board of the Supreme Economic Council, and in 2017, he was appointed interim president of the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center.
