Wasl was established by the Dubai Real Estate Corporation in 2008. Wasl operates a portfolio of over 55,000 residential and commercial properties, over 32 hotels and hotel apartments, 6,000 land plots, four freehold master developments, and six golf clubs. The company owns a portfolio of hotels under Hilton International, including Hilton Garden Inn Muraqqabat, Hilton Garden Inn Al Mina, and Hampton by Hilton Dubai Airport. Al Qassim is also the chairman of DenizBank, the vice chairman and managing director of Emirates NBD Bank, the chairman of Emirates Islamic Bank, and the chairman of Dubai Sports Corporation and Dubai Autism Center.
