In 2024, Dubai welcomed 18.72 million international overnight visitors, a 9% increase compared to 2023, thanks to some major 2024 events, that organized by DFRE, part of DET, including the record-breaking Dubai Fitness Challenge with 2.7 million participants and the 30th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival. Almarri is also a member of Dubai’s Executive Council and chairman of the Dubai Financial Market, and he sits on the boards of the Investment Corporation of Dubai, Dubai Chambers, Taaleem, and Emirates Nature – WWF.
