Walia started his career at Marriott International in 2005, and he was appointed as COO for Middle east in 2021. In 2024, his relo expanded to include the responsibility of Luxury for EMEA. In 2024, Marriott expanded its co-branded credit card offerings with the launch of new cards in the U.A.E. with Emirates NBD and in Saudi Arabia with alrajhi bank. Between January 2024 and April 2025, the company opened more than 30 properties in the region and signed over 30 new projects. Walia is also on the advisory board for Arabian Travel Market and is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization.
