Ansell assumed his current position in April 2024. In January 2025, a Hyatt affiliate signed a management agreement with the Royal Commission for AlUla for Hyatt Place AlUla, which is set to open in 2026. In February 2025, Hyatt announced plans to acquire Playa Hotels & Resorts N.V., and opened Andaz Doha, its first lifestyle brand in Qatar. In April 2025, it introduced Miraval The Red Sea Residences on Shura Island in Saudi Arabia. Ansell joined Hyatt in 1996 as director of F&B at Hyatt Regency Riyadh. He was previously the area vice president for Central Europe and general manager at Park Hyatt Zurich.
