Walia started his career at Marriott International in 2005 and was appointed COO for the Middle East in 2021. In 2024, his role expanded to include luxury for EMEA. As of June 2025, he oversaw more than 260 operational properties and over 100 pipeline projects across the Middle East, in addition to leading the operations of over 180 luxury properties and 100 pipeline developments across EMEA. Between January 2024 and June 2025, Marriott launched over 30 new properties. Walia also sits on the advisory board for the Arabian Travel Market, and he is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization.
