El Fakir joined ONDA in June 2024. In March 2025, ONDA launched the construction of a new terminal at Mohammed V Airport with a 20 million passenger capacity and an estimated investment of $1.6 billion, set for completion by 2029 in preparation for the FIFA World Cup 2030. It also announced that it had acquired inspection devices, scanners, gates, and other new measures for the Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca. Agadir Al Massira Airport handled over three million passengers in 2024, while Nador El Aroui Airport registered over a million passengers. El Fakir was previously CEO at the Moroccan National Tourism Office.
