Knippenberg has been CEO of Kerten Hospitality since 2015, having first joined the company in 2005. Kerten operates 12 lifestyle brands, 11 operational projects, and over 57 diversified projects across Egypt, Italy, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Kuwait, Türkiye, and the U.A.E., with plans to expand to 12 countries by 2026. Knippenberg also holds advisory board roles at the Sustainable Markets Initiative Committee for the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, the Future Hospitality Summit, Arabian Travel Market, and ambassador for the global Sustainable Hospitality Challenge student competition by Hotelschool The Hague.
