Schupbach assumed his current role in November 2023. In March 2025, the company formerly known as General Hotel Management (GHM) was officially rebranded as Chedi Hospitality. It operates seven properties across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the U.A.E., Oman, Qatar, Switzerland, and Montenegro, with three more scheduled to open in 2026. In February 2025, the company expanded into residential living with the launch of the Chedi Private Residences in Dubai, in partnership with Al Seeb Real Estate Development and Devmark. Schupbach previously worked for the Doğuş Tourism Group and Jumeirah.
