Buhiji assumed her current role in 2024. BTEA was established in 2015 to oversee national tourism in Bahrain and to organize and manage related events and partnerships. Between November 2024 and April 2025, Bahrain’s cruise ship season recorded 37 incoming cruise ships and 140,100 tourists, a 15% growth compared to the year before, according to BTEA. Buhiji is also a board member of the Gulf Air Group Holding and the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports.
