AlFadley has been the Minister of Agriculture since 2015, a year before the ministry was renamed the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture. AlFadley inaugurated Environment Week in Riyadh in April 2025. Under the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI), more than 115 million trees have been planted and over 118,000 hectares of degraded land restored to combat desertification as of March 2025. The SGI included 86 initiatives and programs with investments of over $188 billion across various sectors of the green economy.
