Sheikh assumed his current position in 2010, having joined the institution in 2007. In February 2025, he oversaw the launch of Sehatuha, a women’s health program, in collaboration with Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health, dedicated exclusively to Arabic-speaking women across the country. Between July 2024 and June 2025, the WCM-Q Institutional Review Board oversaw 258 submissions and reviewed 48 new research studies. Sheikh concurrently serves as a Professor of psychiatry and healthcare policy and research at WCM-Q, and is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University.
