Biopharm was founded in 1992, by Abdelmadjid Kerrar. Abdelouahed joined Biopharm in 1995 and assumed his current role in 2015. The company operates across pharmaceutical development, production, wholesale and retail distribution, medical information, and logistics services. In H1 2025, it recorded revenues of $316 million and had total assets of $784.5 million. Abdelouahed also serves as Vice President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council.
