4. Asar Jaradat
Age: 26
Occupation: Nuclear Physics Researcher & PHD Fellow at CERN (The European Organization for Nuclear Research)
Nationality: Palestinian
Residence: Switzerland
Category: Science & Technology
Jaradat is co-developing a new ion source technique for ultra-precise laser spectroscopy measurements of atomic nuclei called the Perpendicularly Illuminated Laser Ion Source and Trap (PI-LIST). The system acts as a next-generation nuclear microscope, enabling probe hyperfine nuclear details that could advance nuclear medicine, materials science, and fundamental physics. The PI-LIST is now fully operational within the Resonance Ionization Laser Ion Source (RILIS) experiment at the Isotope Separator On-Line Device (ISOLDE) at CERN, where it is used for both radioisotope production and laser spectroscopy scans. Jaradat also filed a patent for OilZ, an olive-oil wastewater treatment method she invented in her early teens.
