Al-Khalifa joined QNB Group in 1996 and was appointed as the Group CEO in November 2018. The group operates in more than 28 countries through more than 900 locations and employs over 31,000 employees. In Q1 2026, the bank reported $387.3 billion in total assets and $1.2 billion in net income. In 2025, QNB Group closed a $2 billion unsecured syndicated term loan facility, targeting Asian investors. Al-Khalifa also serves as chairman of QNB Türkiye, QNB Suisse and QNB Capital and sits a board member of Ooredoo Qatar, Qatar Airways, and the Qatar Stock Exchange.
