Al Katheeri assumed his current position in 2023, overseeing a $77.3 billion portfolio that grew by approximately 20% in 2025 and contributes $12.3 billion annually to Abu Dhabi's GDP. Mubadala's UAE Investments platform is the country's national investment vehicle. In May 2025, Mubadala Bio, which Al Katheeri currently chairs, was launched to strengthen the UAE's life sciences sovereignty by integrating biopharma and pharma logistics, with the capacity to produce more than 2.5 billion tablets and capsules annually. Al Katheeri chairs Mubadala Energy, and Tabreed, while serves on the boards of Masdar, Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), and Cepsa.
