Abou-Aly founded Pickalbatros Hotels & Resorts in 1992. As of September 2026, it operates 45 properties across Egypt and Morocco, with more than 20,000 keys. In 2025, the group launched Albatros Makadi Resort in February, the Palais Des Roses Hotel Agadir in May, and SunGo Club Hotel in Marrakech in September. The group is preparing to launch Palmeraie Golf Palace Marrakech, Pickalbatros Royal Paradise Sharm El Sheikh, and Pickalbatros Cairo Hotel & Spa (previously Hotel Le Meridien Heliopolis Cairo) by the end of 2026.
