Messerli assumed his position in 2023. As of July 2026, Four Seasons operates 138 hotels and resorts and 61 residential properties across 47 countries globally, with over 60 projects under planning or in development. Messerli oversees the EMEA portfolio of over 40 operating properties with 7,500 keys. Recent regional openings include Four Seasons Resort and Residences AMAALA at Triple Bay, Four Seasons Resort and Residences Red Sea at Shura Island, and Four Seasons Hotel Mykonos. Messerli first joined Four Seasons in 2005 and has since held leadership roles around the world, including in the Seychelles, Shanghai, and Madrid.
