In January 2025, General Motors began manufacturing the Chevrolet Optra compact sedan in Egypt. In 2024, it introduced OnStar connected services in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, to join the previously-launched markets of the U.A.E. and Kuwait. In December 2024, it announced a 35% reduction in operational carbon footprint by activating a solar-powered roof at the Middle East Distribution Center, its highest energy-consuming facility.
