In 2024, Almarai cut 6% of direct emissions and 19% of indirect emissions compared to 2023, reduced refrigerant leakage and replacement CO₂ by 30%, boosted solar power to 89,564 kilowatt-hours, up by 16%, and lowered plastic waste by 535 tons compared to 164 tons in 2023. In May 2025, Almarai signed an MoU with e& enterprise to build a greenhouse gas emissions database across more than 100 facilities using AI and IoT, aiming to develop science-based climate targets and cut emissions. Albader joined Almarai in 2000 and was appointed CEO in 2021.
