In May 2025, Asyad adopted the Global Impact Disclosure Framework, aligning project outcomes with the UN SDGs. The company also launched ‘Sohar Max,’ a 400,000-ton cargo vessel using wind propulsion to reduce fuel use by up to 6% and cut CO₂ emissions by 3,000 tons annually per vessel. In February 2025, Asyad partnered with Oman Environmental Services Holding Company (be’ah) to enhance sustainable logistics, support SMEs, and boost in-country value under the Oman Investment Authority. As of 2024, the group had invested $64 million in decarbonization since 2019, and its fleet was fully equipped with a ballast water management system. Al Hatmi has served as group CEO since 2016.
