In 2025, Siemens Energy upgraded Morocco’s Koudia Al Baida wind project by replacing 90 turbines with 20 modern Siemens Gamesa units, doubling capacity to 100 MW. It also launched Saudi Arabia’s first sulfur hexafluoride-free GIS project with Elswedy Electric, cutting over 6,100 tons of CO₂ emissions annually. In January 2025, Siemens Energy began building a high-voltage substation in Nagaa Hammadi, Egypt, to transmit 1 GW of solar power—enough for nearly a million homes. Siersdorfer has led the company since 2020 after first joining Siemens in Germany in 1987.
