In 2024, Orange Egypt cut greenhouse gas emissions to 111 kilotons, a 12% decrease from 2023, while moving 44% of its consumption to renewables. It expanded its solar-powered network sites through its G2G project and maintained Egypt’s first fully solar-powered retail branch in Sharm El Sheikh. Orange Egypt launched a nationwide e-waste program, recycled electronics, reused 20% of network equipment, and replaced all plastic bags in stores with biodegradable ones. It also introduced the E-SIM and eco-SIM cards made from recycled plastic. Mahran, appointed CEO and managing director in 2025, also serves on the boards of Orange Data and Link Egypt for Trade & Services.
