In February 2025, AMEA Power signed capacity purchase agreements to build Egypt’s first standalone battery energy storage systems, totaling 1,500 MWh. AMEA Power signed an MoU in June 2025 with Kyuden International to cooperate on the development of large-scale clean energy and hydrogen projects across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. It also commissioned the 500 MW Amunet Wind Power Plant in Ras Ghareb, Egypt, making it the largest operational wind farm in Africa. Al Nowais has been in his role with AMEA Power since 2016. He chairs the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, among others.
