Al-Ali became CEO of EtihadWE in 2023, leading its transformation into a smart, sustainable utility. In February 2025, EtihadWE, alongside the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, RAK Municipality, and RAK Public Services Department, launched $126.6 million in network upgrades and a target to reduce electricity use by 30% and water and fuel by 20% in Ras Al Khaimah by 2030. Al-Ali previously served as assistant undersecretary at the U.A.E. Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and as executive director at Masdar Clean Energy.
