In 2025, etisalat reduced scopes 1 and 2 emissions by 15.9%, exceeding its 14% annual target, while 28% of total group energy consumption came from renewable or zero-carbon sources. The group also avoided 15,858 tonnes of CO₂e through solar transitions and 29,747 tonnes through network energy-efficiency and advanced cooling initiatives. In 2025, etisalat also tested an AI-enabled energy self-optimizing network across 50 mobile sites, improving power management and cutting operational costs, and achieved 100% renewable energy supply across etisalat PPF Telecom Group’s entities. Mahmood has been CEO of etisalat UAE since 2021 and expanded his role as group CEO in April 2026.
