In 2025, El Gouna's solar generation capacity more than doubled, growing to 15.8 MW, under a 25-year PPA with SolarizEgypt. It also launched its first outsourced water desalination facility with DesalEgypt at $1.3 million. El Gouna recycles 100% of its wastewater via a network of STPs. Its 2025 and 2026 transport fleet tenders formally require a proportion of EV vehicles, which continue to roll out within the town, while expanding the electric charging infrastructure. El Gouna Nature Conservation Society is an NGO co-managed by company employees and community members, focusing on marine preservation, bird documentation, and mangrove reforestation.
